I Am Receiving Informed Delivery Emails, but I Can’t Log Into My Dashboard. What Could Be Happening?

If you’re in a situation wherein you’re receiving Informed Delivery notifications but can’t access the dashboard, it’s possible you signed up for the service during an official change of address (COA) or with the assistance of a USPS employee who used a mobile enrollment app.

During the initial sign-up process, you must complete the registration by providing a username and password. Otherwise, you won’t receive the one-time link to activate your account.

If the reason for your inability to access the Informed Delivery Dashboard is an expired link or a lost email, you can create a new account. Fortunately, signing up for the Informed Delivery service is free.

When Are Informed Delivery Emails Sent?

USPS will send Informed Delivery notifications from Monday through Saturday, usually before 9 AM local time. However, you won’t receive email and text alerts on Sundays, federal holidays, or days you don’t have incoming mail.

Why May Some of the Mail I Receive Not Show Up in My Informed Delivery Notification?

Can I Get Informed Delivery Notifications Sent to More Than One of My Email Addresses?

The Informed Delivery service is designed specifically for providing previews for letter-sized mail. In other words, USPS may not photograph packages. However, your large mailpiece may have photos if the participating mailer provides the images on USPS’ behalf.

How Do I View Package Tracking Details?

You can view your mail items’ tracking information by going to the Informed Delivery dashboard and clicking the “Packages” button. Doing so will allow you to view a list of inbound and outbound parcels. Click the blue arrow next to the package entry to view individual mail details.

On Days When Both Mail and Packages Are Scheduled to Arrive, Users Will See the Following Delivery Status Information at the Bottom of Their Informed Delivery Email and on Their Dashboard:

If a mailpiece is scheduled to be shipped to your address, you’ll receive an email notification, and your Informed Delivery dashboard will show the package’s USPS Tracking number, the mailer’s name, and the estimated delivery date.

What Do the Different Colors on the Dashboard Mean?

USPS sorts packages into four categories. These categories are identified by different colors and indicate the following:

  • Green: Mailpieces that appear green on your Informed Delivery dashboard are those that USPS has successfully delivered.
  • Blue: If a parcel is traveling through the USPS mailing network, it will appear blue.
  • Gray: The package will appear gray on your dashboard when the Postal Service can’t accurately provide a delivery date.
  • Red: Packages that require action, such as redelivery, will appear in red text.

A Package I’m Expecting Has Not Appeared on My Email or Dashboard. What Could Have Happened?

Sometimes, you may notice that an incoming package isn’t visible in your mail or the Informed Delivery dashboard. This issue typically occurs if the item’s delivery address doesn’t match the address associated with your account.

Other times, a mailpiece won’t appear on your Informed Delivery account if there are system delays. Fortunately, you can manually add a shipment if it has a USPS Tracking number.

If an incoming mail item has no tracking number, you must contact the U.S. Postal Service through its customer service hotline or by visiting a post office.

What Packages Can I Track?

Informed Delivery automatically includes tracking for most domestic USPS packages heading to the address linked to your account, including those shipped through mailing services like Priority Mail Express.

You can monitor up to 20 mailpieces daily if you’re the one shipping. However, you must manually add them to your Informed Delivery tracking list using their USPS Tracking numbers. Note that USPS won’t automatically include them.

Can You Track USPS Certified Mail?

Like most domestic USPS packages, you can monitor Certified Mail through your Informed Delivery account via email, text, or the dashboard. Certified Mail is also eligible for USPS Delivery Instructions, notification management, and redelivery.

Does Informed Delivery Show All Mail?

The Informed Delivery dashboard will only display preview images for seven days and package information for 15 days after you receive the mailpiece. While there’s no limit to the number of inbound mail you can track, you won’t see all simultaneously.

However, if you opted for email and text notifications and saved all those alerts, you’ll have details on mail items shipped to your Informed Delivery-associated address, which you can use for bookkeeping purposes.
